Vocab Cards

vocab cards - for any/all vocab units,

1)create a word spreadsheet, placing one vocab term on a page, and one definition on a page.  If desired, can create a third set using a fill-in-the-blank sentence in context.
2)Have them print 2, 4, or 9 terms/definitions to a page.
3)Laminate.
4)Create 2-3 sets for each unit.
**Do this once, and you've got a set to use year after year, especially if cards are laminated.


Can use for various vocab games -

- have two or three "teams" play vocab memory
- have vocab match "races" with two or three teams
- can have a master key for each unit, and have one student selected to be the "host" to check vocab/def. matches
- Have students create a third piece for these cards: a sentence in context.  On one side can have complete sentence, with word underlined.  On back, have fill-in-the-blank sentence, and have students in teams use the clues to determine vocab word.
