"Anything You Want Holder" keepsake

Alter to make as a first day of school craft. Can be used for student's cubby or pencil holder, etc. to stash his/her belongings.

Anything You Want Holder (adapted from Huggies.com)

Materials:
* An empty and clean round container such as an oatmeal canister;
* Wallpaper samples or shelf paper  OR regular paper and clear contact paper;
* Markers, crayons, stickers, etc.;
* Sharpie marker(s)

Procedures:
Choose a wallpaper sample and help students cover the container with it.  (Depending on age/ability level, students may be able to do on their own.

Or, take a plain sheet of shelf paper. Have students decorate his/her special container.

Write student's name on the container using Sharpie.

** Using a digital camera, you can snap headshots of kids.  Then personalize the container by gluing on his picture.  This will also help you (or a sub) match names to faces.  These pictures are also good to use as reflection for end-of-year activities.
